Hello stompfiends.
I am new to this addiction and not sure if I should place this post in this index or someware else.
Anyway, Joes Easydrive is my 4th pedal and the first built just using the schematic. So as you could all understand I'm still confused about this mysterious black art and will take a while longer to get my head around it. So be gentle.
I managed to wire up the 50k volume pot.  Then after a little bit of playing I thought a gain pot would be cool too, but I couldnt work it out (didnt try hard enough) In the process of removing the 680k resistor for replacing with a gain pot that I couldnt wire correctly I ended up just jumpering the connection and leaving the resistor out.
The result is more gain and a real sweet spot feel to the guitar. I prefer it this way than with the 680k.
Because Im new to this and dont really get it yet, I was wondering if this is OK as far as the rest of the components are concerned. I understand that the 680 has something to do with gain but will I burn trannies or cook my amp without it?
If someone could offer some simple advice, thanks in advance

Also, after adding the volume pot I deleted the 0.1uf that goes from input to the collector of the transister. I think its  the way I wired the vol pot that lead to it  not being connected so I removed it. Should I put it back and try and include it with the vol pot?

sorry if this is too noooob for this index and thanks again
