SOT: SK3891 / ECG829 / NTE829

During my visit to the Dayton Hamvention in May, I picked up a couple of SK3891 = NTE829 electronic attenuator ICs dirt cheap. Now I'm looking for an applications circuit to use one in a compressor. I've searched the web and found a 'data sheet', but it only tells me the ratings and the pin allocations - which I knew already - and not how to use the darned thing.

Can any kind person offer me a circuit or some additional help, please?
