I have found good stock of the original metal-can Fairchild parts, and I have tested some. Hfe ranges from 35 to around 100. I offer them at $ .75 each, no wholesales.

I expect to be able to find the 2N3440 as well, will advise.

what are those used for?

 Thanks Steve!

Is good for vintage big muff since the '70s transistor have low hfe, today is almost impossible to find a transistor with 30 - 100 hfe..

Quotewhat are those used for?
That's the transistor that I used several years ago for the YAFF, which was an article promoting low gain silicon transistors in FF type circuits. It has since become quite popular though there are numerous other low gain silicons that can be used as there is nothing special about it...  the 2N2369 just happened to be the low gain one that TechAmerica had in stock when I went looking for something to use...

...but, I forgot to add,  it is good that Steve offers them since TechAmerica is no longer around!  :D

To anticipate what I expect will be a common question:

At the price, I can't sort and offer known gains. But the hfe range is not impossibly wide, and they don't leak, so a little fiddling on your breadboard should make it possible to use the one(s) that you receive.
