Hi guys!

Just built this PoT from https://dirtboxlayouts.blogspot.com/2021/06/analog-man-prince-of-tone.html?sc=1667938871179#c4464372066263575155 and I have a problem where the pedal is really silent and oscillates a ton when you increase the gain pot. It's synth like oscillation. This happens both inside and outside the enclosure.
I checked the offboard wiring and everything seems to work as it should (LED turns on and off, clean guitar tone passes through when the switch is off, trim pot actually controls the treble, dip switch does its thing, pots react as they should and the 3 way switch also changes sound). Looking at the stripboard nothing seems out of place even the components are healthy. IC (JRC4580D) voltages are as following:

P1 - 4,84V
P2 - 4,57V
P3 - 5,85V
P4 - 0
P5 - 4,47V
P6 - 4,47V
P7 - 4,45V
P8 - 8,79V

I also cleaned the flux on the board with IPA after soldering. I really don't know where to check anymore so if someone has any idea what to do next I'd appreciate it a lot!
Oh and the diodes I used are Panasonic NOS MA858, supposed to be a good replacement for MA856.

Thanks!

P.S. Here are the pictures of the board.

IC1.1 measurements are OFF..
(you can't get 5.85V on pin 3..)

Check 1M non-inverting input bias resistor.. :icon_wink:

It should go to I7 and NOT to F7..!!

edit: Forget it.. :icon_wink:
(IC socket shiny side considered as resistor leg..)

we do like a circuit diagram, cause ..... you seem to have a wire between "volume 1" and "9V", while a wire is missing from "volume 3" ?possibly?obscured? without the circuit dia, it's hard to know what has been connected to.

I dunno. I can barely see it and have no crossreferences on the layout and the obscured build photo and and and and ....

I took another piece of stripboard and rebuilt it completely and now it works... Still have no idea wtf happened on the last board.

Thank you guys for your help!  :D

You should go through it and figure out what mistake was made great spot to learn something.

.... and we still always like to see a photo of your new good build.
