I had the opportunity to use one for a while this summer, and A/B'd against my little Leslie (8" speaker) it does a very nice and credible job.  In stereo it is wonderfully spacious and swirly.  That's sort of the downside.  You won't have to spend money on a Leslie and related cartage fees, but once you hear it in stereo there will be that "small matter" of explaining the purchase of a second amp to your better half.  Likely to make a lot of roadies very happy, and their chiropractors very irritated.  Hell, for all I know, a roadies' union may have subsidized the R&D for this one!  :lol:  :lol:

Several folks have asked on forums about how to get their own Leslies to work at speeds other than the default fast or slow.  The Roto-Machine has independently variable fast and slow speeds.  The range of each digital LFO is not super-wide (after all, why on earth should "slow" go up to 5hz?), but between the three ramp-up/down rates, and the possibility to shift the gap between slow and fast or shift the entire speed range upwards or downwards, a whole lot of different feels can be achieved.  It's a bit like the Start/Stop/Rate controls on the E-H Microsynth - deceptively simple yet capable of tremendous variation.  Coupled with the 3 different models, and terrific emulation of the grind of a Leslie, its a very pleasing unit to work with, and likely to make Leslie sounds return to contemporary rock with a little more regularity.  Since it is a stereo unit, lord only knows what sickness would be invoked feeding its two inputs with a stereo chorus. :shock:
