Ruby amp mod: what's the size of the pot?

I've tried some pots - 2k2A, 10kA, 50kA - with the same results... no sound till the last 10° of rotation.

Does anyone know the right size of the pot to be put there? THANKS SO MUCH!

If there is no sound for most of the pot's travel, and you are using an 'A' or audio or logarithmic pot, try using linear instead.

What would this mod accomplish?

Those are two other LM386 powered amps. According to that page you need a 25 ohm rheostat.

just wanted to put a master volume control as i don't like the one on the ruby, but... a rheostat is very expansive so i'll leave it as is.
