Yea, I've read that and also considered a project on it. Then I read the text abotu the problems and decided that I don't have that much time on my hands.

The main setback is the gas and vacuum environment in the tube...

last summer I had access to a vacuum chamber, and could not imagine doing anyhign like that in my house.
