Andre M. from the sdiy list has kindly provided scans of the datasheets for this very obscure chip:

The DS-1 builders should find this interesting!

Thanks Mike, I picked up a couple of these chips in Madrid about 12 years ago, and got into trouble because my dear wife was anxious to see yet another cathedral/church/place of interest!! We're off to Prague tomorrow, so first thing I look at in the hotel room is Yellow Pages for an electonics store to find obscure parts - perhaps the odd bucket brigade!Stephen

Hi Steve,

First: Apologies for not replying to your private email, which I just  noticed - the PM alert seems to not be working.

Has taken quite a while to find any substantial info on the TA7136. Contacted Toshiba and they didn't provide any data. I removed the epoxy from one chip  and a friend took a photomicrograph - the input pair and current mirror was easy to  locate, wasn't sure about the rest though... only 11 transistors and a few resistors  :D
BTW the TA7063 is an earlier preamp SIP with a total of three transistors inside..!

Used 7136 in a semi-clone of the SH-5 diode ladder VCF, also the System 700 FET phaser. Don't think there is anything magical about the part, but at the time it provided a lower-noise solution for preamp purposes than the available op amps. Good to have on hand for repairing old Roland gear, since it is a 7-pin SIP with odd pinout, messy to fit another op amp in it's place. The CE-1 uses two of these, the DS-1 also uses one. They can still be found here and there.
Hope you find some good deals in Prague!
Cheers, Mike
