ruby not working

im making a ROG ruby (bassman mods) and i just cant get any sound at all out of the thing, the speaker works so thats not the problem, the only thing i can think of is a bung componenet or my earthing, are all the erath signs just meant to go to the negative terminal of the battery?also the negative part of the input?
