Hi!

I want an auto-on funktion to be added to mye GCB-95. I have tweaked it pretty heavily, so I have a decent sound, but I want an auto-on funktion.

Any links to any site where someone explains a simple wah to do it?

And, is it possible to use a light sensor so that you can only step on it, and make it work?

i would get a potentiometer that had a switch on it, so that when you pulled it back all the way, it would click off.

That is a VERY cool idea! Anyone know how to do this?

you can get a momentary switch and mount it  in the rocker part of the wah.  they make great tactile switches that you can put under the rubber part of the wah.  use with a toggle switch on the side so you can choose normal or touch on. ssimilar in use to morley

Wow... great idea. And I thought post-it was a cool invention. a momentary switch... I'm on it! :)

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

spring-loaded pedal return with tactile switch under the heel...

I've tried the new cry baby bass wah which has a similar feature and I hated it. What good is a wah pedal if you can't switch it on, leave it mid sweep and crank up the overdrive!?! BAH!

Thanks for the replies!

But, I'm wondering of making something a bit more like the MSD SilverMachine Automagic feature. anyone who knows about any suitable optical light sensor that can sense if the foot is on the pedal or not?

For example like a night switch, that switches on the outdoor light when the dark comes. Is there such thing that you can place under the foot? (I don't think there is much light under the foot...

Adjustable would be a plus.

If this sounds just crazy, I leave it with one of the other solutions :P

Those Sharp proximity infrared switches (used by amateur robotics guys, and also to flush urinals) will do this. Been discussed here before.
And here's a kit from someone else: http://www.oricomtech.com/prod2/irpd.htm
