Hey guys.

I picked up a TM5 today @ a pawn shop for $10. I have already taken out the 4558 and put in a chip socket to play around with. Does anybody know of any other mods to perform on this pedal? I would really like to smooth the sound out as it has a high gain trebly sound. I am new at this so please go easy!

from the schem, it looks like a fairly basic pedal, input and output buffers, as well as a tone control, and clipping stage.

It looks to me that the main mod you may want to do is switch out the clipping diods to whatever flavor suits you (the back to back diodes next to C11 all the way on the right side of the schematic)

The tone network doesnt look like a familiar layout to me, but Im sure you can change some caps in there to change the EQ curve, once you kind of decipher how its set up.

Looked like there's BTB diodes to ground, depending on what's in there and how you want to change the tone of it...
AMZ Labs notebook has diode mods
Then of course the caps in, and from signal path to ground....what kind of caps are in it? What do you want it to 'do?
