I know - I'm a cheapskate...

Have we talked about the cheapest DC connectors?

Maybe there is a better search than the ones I have used?

I have used 1/8" minijacks, and other things, but I'm wondering if, assuming you're making your own voltage converter, if there is a cheaper way to get portable DC power to DIY boxes than the 2.1mm metal/plastic jacks/plugs (which is about $2 together)?

Works AC and high current and voltage too. I have used cable ties as strain relief, or just make a knot so the wires don´t get loose.

Just kidding, I never grow old.

Maybe nice female and male connector pairs can be found cheap at well-equipped electronics store, but no such shops near me, and it is difficult to find suitable in small pictures in catalogs...

EDIT I see some pro safety/communication electronics with my day job, and I think they are called "molex" or something simple looking connectors, and some fragile lookin boardmount pin/socket systems in rack gear
