The Distortion+ is my favorite pedal ever, and you may remember the schematic I drew for a version of it that used Joe's discrete opamp called the "Sense Monument".  Although it sounded AMAZING to my ears, I reckon the discrete opamp made the circuit overly complex compared to the original simple design.  SO...

Could a 308 [with compensation cap] be used in place of the 741 in a Distortion+ style circuit? [with the pinout changed accordingly]  I know alot of folks would say "what a waste of time", but at least no one else would have a Distortion+ with a 308 in it  8)
