After battling health problems, the devastating loss of his Slidell home to Katrina may have finally broken his spirit.

So long. :(

...I am truly saddened...met him in Lansing, Michigan at a guitar show- probably one of the best moments in my life-I was testing the "new" Deja Vibe with a "new" Prescription Electronice Experience pedal an a strat....I became aware of a hand on my shoulder from behind; I turned around to see him smiling at me. I shook his hand we talked a bit....I remember my friend snapped a picture of us.....It didn't dawn on me until I got home and remembered where I saw him before-I have an old videotape of him on Hee Haw (I believe three episodes) ....I watched him blow away Roy Clark and that speaks volumes!!! I later learned he and I shared the same health problem-diabetes......does anyone know what caused his death?......

dr said " I saw him blow away Roy Clark...."  I must have seen the same show. The first time I saw him was on some show in the '70's and he was blowin' away Roy Clark! Sad, another legend passes into memory.  Damn, we're losing alot of them recently!
