umm hey,
i'm new to this stuff, and i just finished wiring up my first pedal on the breadboard, its an lpb boost using the BC549C.

anways the question is, are the grounds on the jacks taken from the tip or the sleeve lugs on the jack?
i'm confused, cos somebody told me it was the tip and i saw schematics showing the sleeve as going to the ground.

please help!

Sleeve=ground
Tip=audio signal

*edit - damn typing errors

vanhansen

It's the sleeve.  Tip is the hot or signal connection.

Make sure the transistor is in correctly.
Double-check all wiring at the jacks and switch and ground connections.
Did it ever work before?

i checked it out and found a few stray ground wires...sorted them out and got a signal, but it kept going. i dont know what is wrong.

umm when i turned the pot i got something but then nothin...
btw the pot i'm using is an alpha pot from banzai? are these alpha pots ok.. cos i'm thinking it could be a dudd!

the only other pot i have is a 500k pot, i dunno who its made by.

Bad solder joint at the pot lug(s) maybe?

achtung jackass

i think it could be, i'll resolder it tomorrow. its too late now.
