Hello... I know this is off topic but Can anyone give me a link or a schematics or teach me the right way regarding certain mods to make the Boss MT-2 to make it sound less harsh and to remove the annoying midrange hump that seems to sound fake and unnatural and to make it less noisy also... I'm new to these kind of things so any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks.  :)

To be honest, its not worth the agro/time !
Sounds better stock, just play with the eq some more :D
If its too noisey, turn the gain down a bit !!

Ive recently decided that its fine the way it is and isnt worht the trouble to make changes. Its a 1 trick pony.

I disagree. You can get a lot of different tones out of it by experimenting with different EQ & gain settings. That's a four band parametric EQ, you can really shape your sound with it. Don't let the name fool you.

I did some of those and a bunch of others, my MT-2 is full of "sockets"
and looks like "Frankensteins Guitar pedal" !!!!
It ended up a bit "smoother" and I got rid of the "nasal" sound which
seems to haunt this box.
It then sounded too much like a regular "nice" overdrive, which it
isn't supposed to be.
On top of that, I spent hrs & hrs doing it, checking it, and re-checking it
against a "stock" one.
I must have spent enough money in time/parts to buy six more !

So, I ended up with it almost back at stock  !
The most drastic changes are simple, diodes !!
Just spend some time with the eq, its four band parametric, so is very
flexible  :D
Just my 2 cents worth ....

You really have to take the pedal for what it is. If you like the sound of it stock then keep it that way. Of course you can tweak the EQ but this pedal really isnt much of a modder. After mods it ends up just sounding a ho hum and bland. Mine ended up sounding a lot like my 1 transistor fuzz. I did change the diodes which does give it kind of a crunchier sound but otherwise its pretty much stock. Take it for what it is and if you want a good pedal to mod, go out and buy the DS-1. That pedal is great for modding and only 40 bucks.

The boss mega distortion is a great canvas for mods too -- very flexible with the bass and high adjustments.

I think thats the best way Id describe it.

Ok... THanks 4 the advice, Btw, I'm going to get myself a SD-1... Can I mod it to sound like a high gain OD/Dist pedal??? Coz the stock does really sounds good to my ears. THe only thing that is lacking is the gain. Can this be possible??? TO add just the right amount of gain?
