spst to switch in D3 on TS clone Sym/Assym

Could a SPST with the terminals wired to the leads on the Third Diode of a TS allow switching between Sym/Assym - Ibanez/Boss Clipping.  I saw this technique described in the fat mod on GGG for the TS regarding the .047uf Cap in and out of the circuit and wondered why not on D3.

So, there is no leak to the diode when switch is "ON" or closed?

No need to apologize for asking. No, you will not have any leakage through the diode. What you do in practice is shorting the diode terminals. It is indeed the same as if there was no diode there, just a straight forward connection.
