Are those black cheapie 5mm LED holders the same size as the chrome bezels?  I drilled my box out for a Chrome LED bezel.  I don't particulary like the Chrome bezel since you can't see the LED from the side.

thanks

At least the ones that I buy here are the same size as the cheap black ones.

I think the chrome bezels require a slightly larger hole than the little plastic clips, like 1/16" maybe.

DOPE!!

I was hoping that wasn't gonna happen, i guess i will just use the bezel for this pedal and the others i will use black cheapies since they aren't drilled yet.

Maybe you can fit a black holder in the hole. Do a try before you use a chrome bezel.

I bought two different kinds of metal bezels (at musikding.de), one of them with outside reflektor, so it be possible to see them from the side.

Just curious, when do you need to see the status on your stompbox from the side?

WOW, I didn't know they exist!  The ones i got are from Smallbear.

Always,

I  rarely play bar gigs.  I play big venues,  I always am standing at the very front of the stage(well close to it) and my pedal board is like 10-15feet away from me.  Sometimes it is hard to hear myself on stage, and i like to have each of my pedals with a different LED to i could glance over and know.

the gigs i played in the past were usually big venues since i am not old enough to get into bars, even though i did play around ten gigs in bars, jumping in with various bands.

I always did Hendrix,EVH,Vai,Original

the LED's i got have really high milicandela power.  If i put a 33k resistor with them they are way too bright when looking at them from straight on but from the side they are OK.  I go to around 51K-60K- they are good for looking straight at them, but from the side they are barely visible.

I want to keep them with minimal battery consumption since i can't stand the sound of powering pedals via power supply's.

Batteries are dirtier and edgier IMHO.

Most of the time i take a Screwdriver and short out both + and - contacts on the battery, so that i drain some juice from them.
In about 20 seconds i could drain around a volt.  This helps with my fuzzface's and RM pedals.

Mate, do yourself a favor & build the 'flat battery simulator'. Then you have control over the voltage AND control over the battery internal resistance. If you are one of the people who can tell the difference in a fuzz run from a flat battery, you might as well get it right!!!

thanks man that sounds great!!

I do have a Pedal Power 2 power supply for when i practice, it has a dying battery simulator, but it doesn't sound like a "true" battery.  Especially in circuits like fuzzfaces where it matters.

Thanks again for the heads up, That will be a great thing to add to my rig. :D
