Hello! I have built the GGG dallas abriter PNP pos. ground fuzz face. It's sounding pretty good although I may do some input cap tweeking for less bass. Also I have the 2k fuzz pot installed instead of the original 1k. I was able to get the voltages pretty close to the standard.
Q1
.8 C
.1 B
0  E

Q2
4.2 C
.8  B
.7 E
As is, I could easily live with how this pedal is sounding, but being a tweaker I'm wondering if any of the fuzz experts see from my voltages an obvious change I could make? Right now I have the 33k resistor in there, will changing this effect the .8 C reading on Q1? And how does this affect the tone? Many thanks!!

What transistors did you use?
I always use trim pots for the collectors of Q1/Q2 just so you can "tune"
them in nicely by ear :D
That's worth doing for sure, even with silicon trannies but definately with
Ge.

Marty, I'm using Ge. transistors. I don't have a suitable potentiometer to do the fine tuning on Q1. I guess my question is.....with the reading I'm getting on Q1, should I increase or decrease the value of the 33k resistor? That IS the right resistor to be messing with in the first place, right?? Thanks!!

If you go to "Laurier's Handy Dandy Little Circuits" at http://members.shaw.ca/roma/fuzz.html you can see what Marty is talking about as far as using trim pots to dial in Ge Trannies for a Fuzz Face.

ok, I see....the only problem is I don't have a pot of the right value so I'm gonna just swap in resistors til I'm close. To get my .8 reading down to .5 on Q1 should I increase the resistor size to say a 39k? Thanks
