I had an extra GCB-95 PCB lying around, so I thought I would try out this mod: http://www.geocities.com/j4_student/fatwah.gif

It's a really simple mod and it sounds pretty good, too. It only took me 20 minutes to perform and it involves lifting one end of two components on the PCB and adding three new ones. I didn't install the "fatwah bypass switch", though. Here's a few pics of the modified PCB:

My question is, what is this mod doing exactly? Is it a type of negative feedback or something? And last, why is it connecting to the 4.7uF cap?

What does this sound like exactly?

I've got a GCB95 that I'm going to mod sometime in the next few days (bypass and a few other things)

It makes it sound a little fatter and smoother to my ears, and I think a little more "vocal" sounding.  8)

Any takers?

I guess I should have asked what affect it has to have that 4.7uF cap going to ground thru a 100K resistor. I assume that somehow affects the frequency response by knocking off some of the highs?
