The other day I pulled in some emails on the email address for my old site (which is essentially closed).

I received an email which invited me to visit some sort of schematic site.   (I think it was sent in late october - I don't look at that email address often.)

Unfortunately (well maybe not so unfortunately) I delete the email so I can't post a link.

From what I remember the front page of the site had a picture which was a bizarre collage of computer generated pictures.  On the picture was hand draw circuit path around the figures in a semi-sexual manner - as soon as I saw it  I suspected the morons were loose again.  There was some other text on the page but I didn't read it.

Down the bottom was a set of links.  I clicked on one of the links and saw words like "Gay" and "Child Pornography" on the page; at which point the intent of the email was obvious and I didn't bother going further.

It was obviously effects and circuit related so it's probably someone here, or perhaps, a disgruntled net surfer who wanted stuff from my site.

Anyone else get one of these little treasures?   I can't imagine someone would go though all that trouble just for me :).

Hi.
No disgruntled loonies....just us regular loonies.

Sorry for being flippant.  If you get anything like this again, check the e-mail header for details of the server from which it was posted.  If it was in the US, Europe, Australia you might be able to cross-check with registration details for the forum or alert local authorities.  Unfortunately, a lot of this stuff comes from eastern Europe, Asia, Latin america and places where there's basically no chance of getting anything done.

I'm surprised we get so little of that stuff here.  I also post on another electronics forum, and we get "FREE IPOD!" spam almost daily.
