What would be the optimal for stompbox use? Let's say I won't use more than 2 opamp and 6 transistors at a time.  ;D

They last years so you might as well go for a biggie...you'll need it eventually!

The biggest you can afford.  Seriously.  I thought the same thing as you and got one around 10"x8", I wish I had one that was double the size!!

JimRayden

What the heck are you doing with that much board? Building into an ant farm?   :D

There is some info on sizes and other stuff too.
Generally get the biggest one you can like cd said.
Would you rather have extra space, or run out of space?

Or buy several smaller, so you can work on different projects at the same time ;)
Also usefull to have LFO and signal paths on different boards.

Or several big ones.

Rephrase the question: Would I rather run out of board space or money? :D

1680 connector holes sound ok?

Hal

you can get breadboard _cheap_ surplus.

the "standard" sizes run about $5 each or so.  Sometimes less. check allelectronics

can't attest to quality, though

JimRayden

And what could the standard size be?
