sorry maybe this was brought up before, but i was wondering what effect would flashing led's have if i used them instead of the normal diodes or regular leds in a distortion pedal?

They probably wont work. Flashing LEDs have tiny tiny tiny circuits inside of them that makes them flash. All this other circuitry will probably screw with the LED and wont make it work a feedback loop of a distortion pedal.

oh ok, that sucks. i thought it would sound wacky....oh well :'(

yeah i think i will give it ago, on my next build. i'll make it switchable so the pedal will actually be usuable too...lmao  :D

Just put sockets where the clipping diodes are so you can switch them out. A switch is way overkill and a huge waste because the flashing LEDs wont work anyways.
