First, thanks to Bluesdevil, I can work on the Boss DS-1, because he's sent me inline opamps which came from another forum member who was kind enough to send them to many forum members!!! One has to appreciate the generosity that goes on here !!
Another great reason to hang out here !!!
These two we're waiting for the photocells that also arrived today/
Tremulous Lune...I found a bad 100uf cap causing shorts sometimes [it would seem, anyway the cap removal solved it], and replaced that with a different 100uf and a 4001 type diode...whew, that was a tuf nut to crack !!! [found the other problems too]. I love the way this one sounds. Controls...plenty !!! 0 volume at bottom of swing...absolutely !!!
EZ Vibe, I had the photocells tied to the wrong connection, also I'd wired the + and - inputs of a stage backawards, not too much time finding, pretty quick fix...it's a maze of 10k's and caps once in the middle of debugging in phase stages!!!
Anyway I figured this one out and it certainly reponds to different lighting [I was manual phasing it with the roomlights on the LDRs, pretty good just waving my hand over it]...then I was phasing in the dark!!! ... 8)...watching the LED"s...
It has a slight tick when the depth is higher than it need be, and I need to mess with the staging cap values, otherwise it's phasing strongly !!!
The tick could be related to using TL082's instead of low current opamps.
Also I used RS LED's, cause I couldn't wait to try the LFO, and they're rated at 20ma, the lowest of The RS models offered [40ma IIRC was on the high side of RS LED's]...anyway these are much larger, very bright, and may be different that those I recieved from SB, which were shown as EZ Vibe components.
I didn't mess up either of the LFO's first time !!! I assume I got lucky...
I really need now to start on figureing out the extra large enclosure on which treadles for phase speed, trem speed and wah etc. can be used with. I've got this idea of running a rod through four pedals [for see/saw treadling] and three 'hinge mounts', the main stopper there is I'm trying to find the pinion/gear sets [to make the pedal turn the pots] for standard potshaft diameter...
I've figured out treadles before but those gears would make it alot easier...reliability hasn't been an issue yet, but I want to use gears.
It 'is 2:00am, but all in all a great day 1!!1
