does anybody know the efm people or how to contact them? i've been waiting for my kits since july, and they haven't replied to any emails since about august.
i'm sure they're legit, but it's getting to that white knuckle stage.
pardon the off-topic post, but i recall someone helping out on this before.
cheers

Tom Gamble is another one of those one-man operations.  I don't personally know him or how to reach him, but he's been around for years (and gone through loads of site redesigns).  It is *possible* that he frequents the synth-diy listserv.

Googling, I found several links & links 2 links.

The "original" efm  (Electronics For Music) was linked from here---

http://www.physicsenterprises.andrews.edu/diy_archive/links.html

and the link's dead, Jim.

but, i think, this is Tom's new site---

http://www.ele4music.com/

at top of page says "updated Oct 5, 2005".....
so...........

Seems 2 have an email link.  (i didn't try it)
Did U email???

Just a note when ordering from small , mom&pop, or parttime entreprtures,
1} Use a credit card...
2) Ask if kit/parts are *IN* stock.
3) Ask when parts/kit will ship.

Notice the last 2 are "ask".
Ask *B4*  U plunk down your $$
Course, U got to have an email-address 2 do this..
Also, it's nice if site has a real phone# to call....  :)

EFM also has a DiscussionList.
If I remember, Tom was coming out with a new line of synth modules(3500series).
I *thought* the pcbs & kits were in production and shipping.
I *do* notice a "10 day" disclaimer on one of the pages.
From July is a long time 2 wait for something U already paid for.
from July is a long time 2 wait B4 U ask "what's going on?"....

GoodLuck

thanks guys.............yes i did try the email, no reply. i've been sending fairly regular messages to them, and they not only said the stuff was in stock, but was shipping imminently. then about a month later they said i hadn't paid the shipping charge. so i paid that, then total silence.
i've been pretty busy with other stuff and didn't have a moment to chase it up, but i now i've got some time, i want to sort it out.
i need to try and find a phone number for them.
cheers

Ah yes, "they".  When "they" is one person, all it takes is flood in the basement, a nasty flu that confines you to bed for 10 days, a hard-drive crash, or even a parent who goes in for surgery, and you're instantly a month behind.

Tom has a lot to risk by screwing people over, so I think you can trust in his honesty.  I realize that the things he offers seem too good to have to wait for, and its frustrating when someone has your money and you don't have what the money went for, but be patient.  I'm, sure he'll deliver.
