Is there a trick to soldering to a Hammond (actual Hammond, not Taiwan) enclosure? My jacks are plastic and I'd like to put a ground wire to the enclosure. I've tried grinding a rough spot, which has worked for me on other materials (like the back of a pot, spring claw, etc), and a couple types of flux. No go tho.
Pardon my poor English. I'm American.

I've soldered to aluminum but it takes plenty of heat, a very clean surfaces and special solder formulated for aluminum...

I get a nut 'n bolt, run a ground wire to a 'loop washer' and tighten that, using a lockwasher under the nut to dig in the aluminum.
Acually I take thick core copper, loop it, flatten it into a 'washer', solder the loop, and the wire, then bolt that down to the case.
Run a ground wire to both jacks
Maybe there's another way like conductive epoxy...
