I gather he is a bit too busy to post here about it, being as it occurred a couple of days before Yom Kippur, and there is all the packing to do (sorry, Steve, can't help you with that over the phone!), but Steve Daniels notes over on the Small Bear site ( http://www.smallbearelec.com/Updates.htm ) that he has scored himself a larger space to work in/from.  Mazeltov, Steve! (though maybe Judy is the one who should be rejoicing more ;) )

This also bodes well for us here since there are a great many things I'm sure he would like to stock, either per se, or in greater quantity/choice, but space constraints prohibitted it previously.  I'm sure that when filling orders by pulling stuff from bins, it makes a world of difference if you can stand back a foot or two further back from the shelf, just so you can FIND the darn bin with the transistors. :icon_lol:

That's great news!

As you all have noticed Tonepad has always supported Small Bear. We have links to his site in almost every page!!

Congratulations Steve!!!!!

That's great to hear that Small Bear is prosperous and growing.  Making it easier to find the right high quality parts is a tremendous resource for the DIYer.  My homemade pedals have improved in reliability/coolness directly as a result of this.  I've given Steve hundreds of dollars now and have never been let down.

I think it's been real helpful for Steve to have somebody like you to lean on too! :icon_wink:

Mark & Co.--

It has all worked out for the best.

I began looking in early August, and a good thing on two counts! First, the search was far more difficult than I had anticipated for reasons I discussed in the State Of The Cave. And, second, about a week before I signed my lease, I got a letter from our building management making it clear that I could no longer operate the business from here. I had run "under the radar" for years (with the knowledge of my neighbors) but things grew to where some schmucks complained and the Board had to take judicial notice. It is OK...I had resolved long back to get out for my own good business reasons. I didn't like having a gun to my head during the last negotiations with the person from whom I'm renting, but it's actually been a good education in keeping poker-faced when working with a busted flush.

Absolutely, Judy is looking forward to having the shipping department out of the second bedroom, but so am I. I expect to be grossly more efficient, and, yes, there will be room for lots more toys. I will be able to start to move next weekend. The husband of the lady who packs your orders is a building super here, very handy and much stronger than I; he'll help me move, build shelves and get the space ready.

I don't expect the move to affect turnaround time, and you should start seeing the benefits in the next couple of months. Thanks for the good wishes!

I cant wait! I always look forward to the new toys at Smallbear. I wonder what all this will be like 10 years from now. Maybe Steve will have a warehouse by then. Maybe a small auditorium?  :icon_razz: :icon_razz:
Good luck Steve- Im still waiting for those matched phase 90 trannies to show up on your list  :icon_razz:

Here's a storage hint Steve (from an ex bookdealer!)  go for DEEP shelves & store the less used stuff at the back (or in trays or boxes that are narrow but deep), then you have a higher shelf to walkspace floor area. But you probably knew that..

Once everything is settled down, it would be a great idea to do some "market research" by posting a thread here asking for suggestions on what you should use your extra space for.........wah shells...TDA1207, TDA1208.

Congrats Steve.

A reminder to Oz and NZ people that it's cheaper to buy PnP from Steve and get it posted from the US than to buy it here from Jaycar by the sheet.  Huh??  He's also very cheap and stock a wide range of trannies.

Best wishes Bear
