I've used the search function and looked around alot at Mouser, Digikey, Jameco, and others, but I can't seem to find a good selection of PCB Vertical mount pots in a wide range of values from 10K-1M, Audio and Linear taper, threaded panel mount bushings, and 1/4" shafts, though 6mm might work.    Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,

The reason you can't find too many is because there aren't too many used that resistive range and tapers. You might find values like 1K, 5K, 10K, 20K, 25k, and 50K as those are common in mixers and digital equipment which often employ PCB mounted pots. If you want different tapers and ranges you are going to have to custom order which means you have to buy a minimum lot.

Watch the wattage for the pots in perspective to the function in the circuit too. Many are only 1/8 or even 1/16 watts.

I'm in Australia & special order mine in bulk from the local Alps distributor, but they usually have a few in stock. The key is, they are called "snap-in" pots, you make a couple of holes for the tabs that hold the pot in place on the PCB. high values are prety scarce,  in my experience (I use 10KB, 100KB, and 100KA).

Thats my problem, I can't find the 1M that I use for gain in most circuits.  Mouser carries the Alpha line of snap-ins, but they are only available in Audio taper as far as I can tell.    What kind of price/ quantity to special order, and where?

I think for a special order, you might be looking at at least 1,000 :icon_eek:
But, try your local distributor, it is always possible someone hasordered some & not come through & they are stuck with some.
The alternative is to redesign to match what IS available. It is usually possible to do this!
(even if you are wanting a 1M audio as the input volume control in a FX, you can put a fet source follower in front of a 100K pot & have the input impedance as high as you want).

I order from Alpha fairly often and can add "specials" as needed. Give me the EXACT Alpha part number, and I can get you a quote. Yea, minimum quantity is 1,000 pieces per line item, delivery about 6 weeks after I place the order.
