thought that I would just throw this one out there...by some quirk of fate we got some moog pedals in the store today. I immediately hooked up the phaser.....wow. The sweep is incredible and now my diy small stone just isn't as cool :icon_neutral: I was wondering if there was a diy pedal out there that anyone had made or used with a really wide sweep like the moog. When searching the forum I ran across the infinitphase over at prophecysound but couldn't get into the diy site to check it out more. I also came across a 12 stage phaser, but there were no sound clips for it or descriptions of the sweep.

I believe that it could be possible to get close by building the Ross Phaser with the added phase stages. I think FP is working on an add on board for that right now. As far as I'm aware, the moog is a 12 stage phaser, so that's probably where the magic is coming from.

I expect Mike/Vsat to chime in eventually, with some comments about things none of us would have ever thought about, but for the moment assume that some fairly dramatic sounds can be achiveed by marrying more phase-shift stages with a decent sweep generator.  Take a peek at the duaghter board layout for the Ropez,so you can add extra stages (in groups of 4) to your Ross Phaser clone.

I'd wager that it has something to do with 15 volts and the LFO used in the Moog Phaser.
