i recommend changing from solid to stranded... but how did you get 24/26 AWG solid?

BC109s i know to be lower gain transistors, contrary to the Ge MPSA18 trannies that are stock in most wahs. I think i remember reading either at fuzzcentral or RG's tech page that the old vintage wahs used lower gain transistors. BC109Bs are best, I've used the BC109Cs from smallbear and am very pleased with the result.

don't know why you'd find problems with this tranny, wherever i use it, i'm satisfied. although i've never used it in a fuzz, i'll admit.

and it appears the pot is working fine and does work !

How do you know it's working if there's no fuzz?  Did you remove it and test it?  If you didn't, take a voltage measurement at the base of Q2.  Does the voltage change as you turn the pot?
