Built the Red Llama today. Fun, easy, great sound.
I used MartyB's PCB layout: thank you for that MartyB!
First (working) pedal I built with PCB I etched myself, so another small victory there.
One question though: Is the volume supposed to work "backwards" or did I just wire it the wrong way?

Hey Wild Mountain, glad you got it fired up.  Yes I've got the pot diagram backwards - gotta correct this.  :icon_redface:  Like R.G. I always get those things backwards!  (If R.G. does, then I can't feel too bad).

I have built the Llama twice with my own PCB layout..both times I just got a really gated sound when I slammed the strings. This is with a regulated 9v PSU.... Very frustrating!

I have a tonne of CD4049UBE though, I will be trying again!

Thanks for the reply Marty. I am not too handy with offboard connections myself. Still have to check with previous builds how I have to wire those battery snaps and 9V jacks together.
I thought it might be some weird "Way Huge" way of controlling the volume, but then again, what do I know? Otherwise it's working great thanks to the nice and compact layout. Thanks again.
After my first build on a "self-etched" PCB that failed miserably so far ('69 fuzz) I wasn't sure my etching technique was good enough. The board looks very nice though, if I may say so myself.
