Curious about how my Marshall Channel Switch works i pulled it apart last night to discover the most simple circuit that involved two SPDT Switchs, one for the Amps Channels and One For the Built in effects (Marshall MG100HDFX). I am only concerned with the channel switch though.
I assume that the circuit is engaged by making a ground point. The jack is a stereo plug i know about input jacks but not so much plugs as yet) and a yellow lead from the channel switch runs to whats seems to be the tip of the stereo plug while the red lead from the same switch runs to the sleeve of the plug. From this the red lead goes to one of the outer poles of the switch while the yellow connects to the middle pole. Along with the yellow lead/pole there is a black lead that runs to the centre pole of the 2nd SPDT switch (Effects switch) and on this switch a blue lead runs from one of the outer poles to what i assume is the ring of the stereo plug.
Sorry about the confusion but for some reason i cannot post pictures.
What i would like to do is to build a switching system that is only concerned with the channel switch, but im wondering whether i will require the 2nd (effects switch) for this to do the same job. Could anyone please direct me on how i would go about making a turbo switch for my DS-2. Im assuming to make this work i just have to configure the switch to ground to engage the turbo.
