I was recently asked maybe if I could try to fix a pedal for a guy. It's a Bennett Labs Boost-e-a, which he bought used and which seems to have some sort of "fuzz-problem". I've just talked to the guy - so I haven't heard nor seen the pedal in question.

I saw on the company site that the booster may be equipped with Ge transistors to get a more "fuzzy" sound.

If I where to fix this pedal - is it just question of a substitution of trannies? In that case - which Si transistors?

Thanks!

I think you might have better luck catching Bruce on the HC Forums (in the Electric Guitars or Effects forums) or through his sites, www.bennettmusiclabs.com and www.pickersexchange.com (that's Picker's Exchange, not Picker Sexchange).

:lol:

 Howdy;
Sorry I don't get around here much.

I would get me a 2n5089 and use that.
Most of the time the tranny is the problem,
  but make sure the 330 ohm resistor is ok.
I had a few (about 100) that had a mechanical weakness at the leads near the body.
