Not sure if anyone else here has noticed this, but if you use Firefox, just open a new tab and type a part number in the address bar. I accidentally typed LE555 in the address bar and the  next thing I know I'm downloading a .PDF for the LE555. It didn't work when looking up an 1N191, and you only seem to get results from Fairchild Semiconductor. It seems most modern components are in there. Just thought I'd share.

Ok, that's strange. I just tried it again and I ended up at the dischoteque also. Sorry about that. It worked all last night for me!

I just tried "LM308" and it brought up the datasheet for it. What is really happening behind the scenes, when you type something that is not a URL into the bar, FireFox automatically does a google lookup and sends you to the first hit for that term (Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" feature). Hence, some terms work fine, others don't. I believe this is all configurable, type in about:config into the address bar for a bunch of nutty software variables. You can fine tune a lot of stuff in FF this way.

BTW, if you've installed Yahoo or some other atrocity like I have, it usually wipes out this behaviour with its own Yahoo crap. I had to go and manually undo several items to get this behaviour back.
