speaking of Beck, what happened to him?  He was awesome in the Yardbirds.  A total madman armed with bulging tubes and punished speakers...

Then he left the Yardbirds and went "feh".  Kinda wussed out. :(

I'll have to check these vids out tho, unless you guys have slashdotted the source already :D

Well, he's made several albums in the last 5 or 6 years and toured frequently. Check out this site:

Wow! Thanks for sharing those links. Too much to watch - need more hours in the day.

Yes...BIG thanks for the yummy links guys!  It will be worth a 2 hour download.
To me...they were the first *magical* band that took me to another universe.
And Jeff's sound was the reason I bought my first strat.
On hearing the delicious solo in Evil Hearted You...I thought I needed a whammy bar to get the sound.
Years later, I realised he'd done that slow deep vibrato with a bottleneck slide.
But...the damage had been done...been a Strat Man ever since '65.

I love stuff like that! I let it download after I went to bed last night, and watched it just a little bit ago. Very Cool! I thought that it was interesting, that the fuzz tone was such, that half the time you couldn't tell where the harmonica stopped and the fuzz began. Groovy!

Pedal love

Great sites! My favorite Yardbirds clip, is in the legendary film,  Blow Up. Our protagonist Thomas, happens upon a club where Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page are sharing lead duties with The Yardbirds. Suddenly Beck becomes frustrated and smashes his guitar, in splendid Pete Townsend fashion. The movie is legendary on its own, even though the mod-era Yardbirds, are the perfect dessert topping.4 stars! pl

I saw that when it was posted at 18watt.com, I love the way he has a full control over the tone knob and the trem bar. The tapping is one thing I don't like in this vid.

Thanks for another cool video!
Does Beck usually play without a pick?
