So my first project since high school electronics almost a decade ago was a Ruby amp with the Fetzer Valve mod and an output jack (basically the headphone jack from their FAQ but no adtl. resistor).

I've post about it before a bit but here are pics of the Beast in it's wooden cage ...

Not the prettiest thing in the world but it sure is small (The battery in #2 is a standard double A battery) for a combo amp than can double as a head.

wow, that's pretty groovy, man  :icon_biggrin:

The enclosure lookes like the Wooden crates that EH puts their pedals in.  The interior, i mean.  Come to think of it- that would be a pretty good idea eh?

the EH wooden boxes work great...i built a "combo" style mini amp in one, and i also took one of the bigger boxes (the dr Q, iirc) and made a half stack cab using 4 small speakers, and then made a seperate head for it...kinda cute...gave it to my niece as a gift :)

Dern, another one of my original ideas that turn out to be "not-so-original"  :icon_lol:

Does sound pretty cute  :icon_biggrin: .  exactly how thick are the eh crates eh?  They look thin; however i've accidently stepped on the crates numerous times- still havn't broken a one  :icon_eek:

Thanks guys -- the crate was made from leftover wood scraps as a father-son project (Hey, I might be grown up but it's still fun to make stuff with the old man). All in all it's a nice little unit -- Just a word of warning watch the bias on that fetzer-valves' trimpot... It can really harsh hard/powerful signals.
