100K Single Gang or Dual-Gang Audio Taper Volume Pot

I am building a clean boost pedal.  What is the difference in a single-gang and dual-gang reverse audio taper 100K volume pot?   Which is better to use, the 16MM or 24MM smooth shaft for a clean boost pedal project with true bypass?

If you're pressed for space, use 16mm.  Otherwise the "full size" 24mm is nice to work with.

Dual gang means two pots on one shaft.  Think of two pots stacked on top of each other.  If your project does not need two pots to be rotated to the same resistance simultaneously, use a single gang.  Info here:

In general, the larger diameter pot will distribute the resistance across a much larger resistive element, although the number of degrees of rotation will not be any different than a smaller diameter pot.  *IF* you have the panel space, and IF you have something like a large "chicken head" pointer knob that would allow you to adjust the control in small but visible increments/decrements, then in theory a larger diameter pot would allow for greater precision, the same way a "long-throw" linear/slider pot affords greater precision for dialing in things.

But that assumes a lot.  For most players, and most boxes, smaller diameter pots are generally preferred because they pose the fewest physical constraints to shoving a circuit into a box.  They're usually cheaper too.

Thanks - I really appreciate your input.  I am using a Hammond 1590 die cast aluminum clone enclosure so I am limited by space.  So, I will go with the 16MM.  Are there any posted clear pictures that show The
"Range Maistro" or "Brian May T-Boost" of the inside of the pedal already assembled.  That's the pedal I am building for my first project.  I prefer true bypass with LED.  Any input is appreciated.
