in the past i've been ordering parts with specific projects in mind, but lately i've started to stock up on parts to be able to build on a whim. now i'm all stocked up on resitors, caps and pots, but i often find myself missing diodes, transistors and ics. my question is, what would be some good diodes, transistors and ics to have on hand for future projects?

i'm also working on a list with a bunch of common components to make ordering from mouser quicker, if anyone is interested i can post it when i'm done.

thanks,
matt

Diodes: 1N914 (or 1N4148), 1N4001, some germanium diodes.

Transistors: 2N5088, 2N3904, 2N3906, 2N5087, MPSA18, MPSA13.

ICs: TL072, RC4558, LM741, TL071, LM386, a few others depending on what projects you may build (ICs can get expensive!)

The list at www.smallbearelec.com is inspirational :icon_wink:

Seriously, I try to use: TL072 for a general dual op amp, LM324 (cheap single sided supply quad op amp), LM13700 (NE5517) dual op amp(now the CA3080 is scarce).
