Fender Blender Mods!?

Hi all!!!  A friend of mine owns a Fender Blender Reissue, he would like to know if is possible to make a few modifications. I've found this schematics from geofex http://www.geofex.com/FX_images/blender.gif. This schematics should be the same as the reissue, except the true-bypass circuit and the 9V adapter. These are the modifications I would like to make:

1 - How to do to increase the output volume?

2 - I have seen the article on the Fuzz Central site: http://fuzzcentral.tripod.com/blender.html. In this schematics the original transistors are replaced by some 2N5088... this can improve or change the sound performances?

3 - When the Boost is off, the Tone control is not very controllable... it works well only after the "7". In the schematics there is not written what kind of Pot is... should I change it?

4 - Is possible to add two leds (for power and boost)? How can I do it?

1) Replace the volume pot with a higher value

2) i wouldn't think so (in my experience)

3) not sure on that one, perhaps capacitor mods?

4) i've done it before, but with a 3PDT stomp-switch

I don't know if you can mod it decently. It's the worst sounding pedal I've ever owned. I've kept it because it is the worst.

Yun, do you think that a 100k Pot intstead of the 50k Pot could be fine to increase the output level? Or is it too high? If I change the value of the 50k Pot, must I change other components?

What caps would you change to improve the tone control when the tone boost is off? Maybe it's a non-linear Pot, could I try to replace it with a linear one?

My experience with unmarked pots is that they ARE audio pots = logarithmic.
Try a multimetre?

Ok, i'll try... thanks unfortunately I cannot now, I don't have the pedal here.

I wondered... we suppose that the Tone Pot is logarithmic: if I replace it with a linear Pot, will I have a better feel?
