Modding Boss DS-1 pedal, any suggestions?

Can anybody offer some cool mods to do to a poor unsuspecting Boss DS-1 pedal?  And is there a big difference between the MIJ and MIT Boss DS-1 pedal?

1. Putting an extra germanium diode in series with the silicon ones (only the clipping diodes of course). ->a bit smoother
2. Changing the amplifying transistor just in front of the opamp into a FET stage (J201 or 2N5457/2N5458). It's worth doing, yet gives some component change and squeezing in the box. You know the "Fetzer" boost? With bias trim pot etc...
I preferred an assymetric bias ( above 4.5V), gives more sponginess, look at the "symetry" thread.

The part #'s match that of a MIT pedal, the mod can be done on a MIJ but the part numbers are different ;) ....

I don't think there's a big tone diff between the MIJ and MIT ...
