both pedals work fine in battery mode [sound great, LED bright]. now for the strange part. when using external power
supply, they still sound great, BUT, the LED indicators only have a dim glow. checked supply voltage; all good.
tried other supplies[8.5-9.5V], no change. anybody with any ideas? [hey Analog Mike, you out there?] please dont suggest running wires from the DC jack to the battery clip. yes this works; but i am into fixing the cause, as a means to
adressing the symptom. not a "quick fix". thanx for taking the time to read this.

older Boss pedals are designed for an unregulated 9VDC supply - which often put out something more like 12VDC. I run all such Boss pedals on a regulated 12VDC supply without any issues.

thanx 4 the tip, BUT... didnt work. something occured though. the DM2 worked for about 5 mins, the totally crapped out. no LED, no sound ,effect in. no sound, bypass. total catastrophic failure[i know i'm not supposed to swear,but...##%$&^^^()*&^###@].anyhow,these are usually the easiest problems to fix(as opposed to intermittent problems), so i'll just pull out the ol' audio probe & VOM and give it a whirl. NOT gonna touch the CE3 till I figure out this mess. anybody know what the SLP-135B LED (thats what they call it on the schematic) is called in the real world? thanx again.
