So last night I wired the whole thing up....I did not use the wires for the original "bypass" circuit in my wiring.  Now I have a very loud hummmm when I engage the effect....but a nice clean sound when I have it in bypass(true) mode.....\

what have i done wrong?

Well, somehow you have miswired it. Triple check your wiring. At worst. put it back the way it was.

The wierd thing is that the effect works there is just that hum..... and it is even louder if I unhook the guitar.
If I run the wire for the original bypass circuit it eleminates the hum, but also the effect,. From what I can see i have it wired right I just wonder if anyone else has done this or had the problem....
