No tinny dist. on a Lofomofo.

Hey All,
I just got done breadboarding, and then building a lofomofo from Tim E. http://geocities.com/tpe123/folkurban/fuzz/lofomofo.gif
The bass cut works fine, but I can't seem to get the grit knob to do anything.
I used all the proper parts, and have checked everything mutiple times.
Any help would be appreciated.
