Been raking through my box of old Military Spec parts.  Doing quite well so far, 40 NPN Germanium trannies and various other bits and pieces.  Just found 2 CV4007 tubes as well, idly wondering if they are suitable for one of the low voltage tube boosters that are floating around.  I know absolutely nothing about tubes.  :icon_redface:

That's funny, I'm thinking the same thing !!
I have a bunch of Mullard M8099 ( CV7040;'s ) which is a mil-spec 6AQ6
Mini 7 pin pentodes, which I think can be used in one of Doug Hammond's valve
overdrives ... ??
I'm guessing due to the size, that a "pair" equates to a damm fine 12AX7 ...

cv4007 will not amplify. it's a diode.
6aq5 can be used as a power output tube. use it instead of 6v6 in a champ design :) i have one wired like that, sounds nice. different from 6bq5 and 6v6 altoghether. check out www.ax84.com see their p1 project.

Guess I'll just have to fit them into the feedback loop of a Tube Screamer then.  :icon_mrgreen:

Don't do that!  Make a tube-based octave up instead.

OR an Electra distortion! One triode, two diodes! :)
