Hello all

I have a question about the behringer foot controller:

If I use it as an external speed control for the phase 45, would it be equivalent to how many ohms pot? Would it work? I could not understand the technical sheet very well. Also, does anyone know if it works well as a standard guitar volume pedal? I can't find the word "guitar" anywhere on the pedal literature...

The FCV100 is pretty solid. It works in two modes:
first, as a stereo volume control. There is a single 50K pot (a pretty ordinary looking one) that is used to develop a voltage controlling a dual voltage controlled amplifier. (there is a 9v battery on board).

secondly, a so-called CV mode.
I say so-called, because it doesn't put out a control voltage. It just connects the pot to the jack so it looks like a 0 to 50K variable resistor. Which is great if you need a o to 50K resistance to control something; if you need 0 to 100K, then it won't cover the full rnge. If you need a REAL voltage control output, then you need to think of a way to get a varying voltage from a changing resistor :icon_wink:
And here is a gotcha: the CV output, is the jack marked output 2.

By the way, is there a cunning electronic way to make grounded 0 to 50K variable resistor look like 0 to 100K? Some kind of current splitter thingy with two transistors say?? Is there an EE in the house?

An idea would be to use an LED/LDR combo. Put the LDR in paralell with a 100k resistor. Then use the 50k pot to control the intensity of the LED (as a voltage divider with a transistor driving the LED). The taper of this combo could be strange tough.
