Hey its great :D now its a lot louder i cant b happier :D but it still isnt giving 100% of gain so i did the RDV schematic (the transistor one) without the pot and it got really louder :D but distorted :( is suppost to b that way??

Thank you

Peter Snow

It looks like the booster is now overdriving the following stage causing distortion.  Start by putting in the pot and playing with it until the distortion disappears.
Keep at it - you're getting there :icon_cool:

I know i'm getting there and i'm sooo happy :D :D

Thank you guys :D

Ok, i have builded a MXR MicroAmp clean booster for use it between PreAmp and Amp, and, here r the results of all testing i have been doing:

First:
PreAmp -> Amp = Too low
PreAmp -> RDV Circuit -> Amp = lot louder but still not at maximum power and distorted
PreAmp -> MXR MicroAmp -> Amp = same louder as with RDV Circuit but without distortion
PreAmp -> RDV -> MicroAmp -> Amp = not tested yet :P but soon :D

I dont know why it doesnt give me all the power it bring with a tv or a walkman or something..

Jesus, i dont know what else :S

Thank you guys, any more idea????

Did you wire in the pot? That should enable you to decrease the output from the booster stage as you turn it and there should be an optimum point where the distortion decreases without loosing too much volume.

Judging from your list (above) it looks like you are getting into too many kludges - it shouldn't be this hard. You should be able to achieve this:

Guitar -> Preamp -> Amp

Personally, I would look at using a dual op-amp configured as two gain stages and an input with correct matching for a guitar as the preamp.  If you want to go that way I can point you to a few suitable circuits.

yeah sure, please subject me those circuits i mean help me, because i have a dual op-amp IC (i guess tda1554 is one of those) , thats means i can use the same :D :D :D

Excellent, please help me with that :D so i can take a look

Thank you Peter

Peter Snow

I'll email you some tomorrow - it's getting late here.
BTW, you can't/shouldn't use the TDA1554 in the pre-amp section 'cos it's a power amp.  Use 1458, 4558, NE5532, TL082, TL072, LM353, etc, etc.

Cheers,

Peter

Rod Elliot has a simple opamp preamp with tone controls as part of his guitar amp project:
