Hi guys I try to make wah indutcor about month ago . I try different ferrites and widouth any success :(
As you know wah incutror must be something between 500-600mH and must have resistance of about max 100 ohm .
I try to make inductor from AC transformer. but resistance is about 1k5 .
I try with different ferrites and when I use different wires I can't make this f****in wah inductor

Any ideas to help me ?
Thanks :)

IMHO Arielfx makes a great inductor.  I tried most of them and his is the best to me for 60's vintage tone.

Hey formerMember1  -- do you just drop in his inductor, or do you have a favorite set of mods that you also do?  And do you think there are any mods that should be done specifically to tune the wah to match THIS inductor -- did that make sense?...if not, sorry...it's almost 5 on a friday, so my brain is rapidly going to sleep...

I like the wah circuit stock values.  I don't like playing with the mids, sweep, or whatever,  I think the best is the arielfx inductor, and  vary the Q resistor for the right Q. 33k-100k  Also think the propot is best replacement.  I play with the bass resistor, but only by a little bit.  Like 430ohms is too low, IMHO.
Usually it is left stock.

WHat matters is the type of caps, transistors, and resistors.  To me anyways, others beg to differ.

ALL i know is i didn't like my wah built stock to fuzzcentral, i swapped the avx and bcxxx to NOS caps and NOS transistors and it got way better.  Don't know if it was the NOS or the value of the cap, probably the value.  THe NOS transistors do seem to sound better/different than modern made ones,..
bc108c are good and the central semi(not fairchild) 2n5172 are great for a thicker warmer tone.

castledine's halo is good, but a little bassy/less wild, the arielfx is more wild less bass/more midrange chirp/quack/honk.

I am in the process of having him make me a custom one to try,..time will only tell.

I can't wait till SB gets the 100k propot made, that should have more of a even midrange spread out, according to arielfx.
