I'm currently working on the Easyvibe from Geofex. As I was populating the board last night, I couldn't find the .015uF cap that I was sure I had bought. Can I substitute something else of a diffferent value without affecting things too drastically? I have plenty of .01uF caps as well as some .0068uF caps I could run in parallel if I needed a higher value. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

A part that you have that's not quite perfect is a thousand times better than the perfect part that's unavailable.

Yes, put the 0.1 and 0.068 on in parallel. When you can get a 0.15uF cap, replace the parallel pair.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

If I'm off by much as far as a cap value I Have comparing to a cap value I Need...I grab a socket....but in the case of a .01 to .015 'difference' I think it'd be hard to pick out that difference in the sound using ears.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
