I wanted something incredibly portable (fits in your guitar case), something that would give me a bit of a unique sound even with the stock Ruby, and something that would catch eyes and make people say "what the fuuuh?" So here's what I put my Ruby inside of...

It's an empty canister of the food I feed my fish. I drilled grille holes in the bottom and lid and put a 2" speaker in the bottom and a 2 1/2" speaker in the lid. As you can see the gain, volume, input, and on/off switch are on the side of the unit. It fits very nicely inside my guitar case, nestled comfortably inside the bottom horn of my Strat. With all that aside the real cool part is the sound. Because of the way the speakers are, facing away from each other, it has strange and wonderful acoustic properties. Turning and angling it in different directions in relation to you is like a primitive (but innovative) tone control. When sitting on end (with one of the speakers facing toward the floor/bed/whatever) the bass range is increased to a fair degree, yet when sitting on its side (with both speakers facing outward) it gives a crisp spank.

That's a neat idea, and I just happen to have many of those empty fish food containers too!  I was also toying with the idea of two speakers in my Ruby but with one pointing down.  I'll have to try this.  Thanks for the idea!
