OK, well many of us seem to be trying to figure those "good ole" 4049 problems out !  so ...
Here's an idea of mine :
I'm running a Fetzer valve, output from 0.047 cap/then vol pot wiper into two sets of 4049 invertors.
Vol pot lug 1 to ground.
Entering pin 3 with 120k/470pf across 3-2 exit pin 2 via 0.22uf to pin 5
120k/470pf across pins 5&4 exit pin 4 via 1uf to 100ka out vol
Pins 3 and 5 have 1M to ground also for bias
pins 7-8-9-11-14 all grounded
Power to pin 1 from 100 ohm to 9v

I'm getting almost an "octave fuzz" !! but there's a definate "bias" problem and
its not sounding how it should
Could someone point me to the problem .... be it bias/impedance ,, etc
Perhaps I should run the fetzer in "direct" and use a 500k pot across pins 3-2
but this is getting close to a three legged dog then and I wanted this to be a little
different  ??
Thanks,
Marty.

THANKS !!
....... shit, you beat me to it  !!
Do you think there's any problems powering pin 1 with all other not used invertors
grounded ?     7-"8"-9-11-14 .....

How does it sound, I guess I'm after a bit less gain !

FIXED !!
I only "dreamed" that I had grounded pin 8  !!
I'll post up a schem of this, it's sounding "SUPERB" and gets a great range from
a 150K reverse log pot from smallbear at the back of the fetzer, just need a small
value to set min gain, so it's not "off"
I'm very pleased, this has a super tone and goes from clean through to quite a
decent "grind"  :D :D  !!

Marty ..... schem soon ....

http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/insanity.GIF  Seeing that reminded me that Aron's Insanity has 2 cmos stages in the middle of it.

Seems like Frank Clarke had 1.5M and 2.2M resistors to ground for asymmetry, if you are interested in trying that.   :icon_cool:

I'll give that a try ... thanks
